Smart Unloading Zone Vehicle, Personnel and Cargo Control Assessment

This case originates from a fixed unloading-zone video monitoring requirement. The work defined three alert types, a 2–4 camera layout, a Jetson edge-analysis architecture, event evidence, layered acceptance criteria and a customer-facing solution. It remains a solution-level assessment: site video, camera parameters, vehicle types, cargo types and personnel authorization data have not yet been tested, so candidate accuracy, schedule and hardware are not presented as verified results.

Case Facts

Case typeRequirement engineering, feasibility assessment and customer solution material, not proof of a completed site deployment.
Three eventsE1 unloading outside the allowed position; E2 pickup by an unauthorized or unconfirmed person; E3 outward crossing while the person-cargo relation remains active.
Proposed architectureFixed cameras feed a Jetson edge node for decode, detection and tracking. Custom modules handle unloading actions, person-cargo association, task authorization and a combined state machine.
Current boundarySite video, model metrics, stream capacity, final hardware and identity-processing workflow remain unverified.

Why Basic Zone Detection Is Not Enough

A polygon entry test cannot determine whether a vehicle actually unloaded, whether a person has current task authorization, or whether a person still carries cargo at the boundary. The design needs vehicle–zone–unloading, person–identity/authorization–cargo and person–cargo–crossing-direction relationships.

Engineering Definitions for Three Alerts

E1 requires confirmed cargo transfer and an unloading reference point outside the allowed zone. E2 requires an actual pickup or carrying action while identity or current task authorization is invalid. E3 requires a stable person-cargo relation and an outward boundary crossing. The system reports operational anomalies and evidence; it does not determine theft intent or legal responsibility.

Edge Analysis, Camera Roles and Evidence

Multiple streams are decoded on the edge for continuous vehicle, person and cargo tracking. DeepStream ROI, direction and line crossing support base events; custom modules add unloading sequence, identity-quality gating, dynamic authorization and person-cargo association. A single point is assessed with 2–4 camera roles, and events retain snapshots, pre/post video and human-review records.

Authorization and P0 Validation

Face matching is not the only verification method; cards, badges, QR codes, work orders or human review remain available. The next step collects a site diagram, day/night streams, vehicle and cargo types, authorization rules and event clips. P0 reports vehicle unloading, unauthorized pickup, cargo carry-out and target-device load results.

Case FAQ

Is this a completed site deployment?

No. The page describes requirement engineering, feasibility assessment and a customer solution. Site video, model metrics and final devices remain unverified.

Why not use one wide-angle camera?

Vehicle position, unloading action, boundary crossing and identity capture need different angles and pixel density. Role merging needs site-video validation.

Does an out-of-zone vehicle trigger a formal alert immediately?

No. E1 requires both confirmed unloading and a non-compliant unloading reference point.

Can face recognition be the only authorization method?

It should not be the only method. The design retains cards, badges, QR codes, work orders or human review and separates unconfirmed identity from unauthorized status.
